The Sun and The Sea

There are two things in life
As different as can be
One is the sun
The other the sea

The sea caries life
Hope and good cheer
But carries away with him
That thing you hold dear

The sun is a demon
That upon you will beat
Mixing your thoughts
In its sweltering heat

It tells you to kill and
To do things unjust
You try to resist
But do it you must

To do as he bids
Is to kill the sea
Who stole your treasure
As so was his fee

But torn as you are
You must choose today
Whichever the path
A price you will pay

So you sit and you ponder
One shot and its done
Now all that is left
Is the sweltering sun
