Everywhere I go
Everyone I see
Everything has on a mask
Nothings real to me
People put on a masquerade
Pretending to be my friend
But once my back is turned
There lies the friendships end
Everyone says they're the real thing
But I can see through them all
The masks look all the same
You can see them down the hall
Everywhere I go
Everyone I see
Everything has on a mask
Nothings real to me
Once I wore that selfsame mask
Just to see how it would be
To have a mask all my own
But the mask just wasn't me
I'd rather be myself
Though people think it a sin
I like the way that I am
Though I'm not really "in"
Everywhere I go
Everyone I see
Everything has on a mask
Nothings real to me
Though I can't make people be themselves
Tell them to do what they want to do
Why do people wear that mask?
Isn't it best to just be you?
